Holy and loving God, we give you thanks today for calling us together in this time of worship to hear your word and celebrate your righteousness, your truth, and your mercy. You are the one from whom every family in heaven and earth takes its name. We pray that according to the riches of your grace you will grant that we may be strengthened in our inner being with power through the Spirit and that Christ may dwell in our hearts and show forth his care to the world through all that we say and do, both in this hour and in all the hours to come. We ask it in his name. Amen
